St. Tammany Library Strategic Plan

Written by:

Strategic Service Plan

As St. Tammany Parish Library plans for the future, 0ne of my primary goals as Director of the St. Tammany Parish Library has been to complete a Strategic Plan for services. As you read this, our strategic planning process is underway.  We invite everyone in our St. Tammany community — current and future patrons — to join us during the upcoming months for what is sure to be an engaging and valuable experience.

Carson Block Consulting, the planning consultant selected by the St. Tammany Parish Library Board of Control in late June, will work collaboratively with the St. Tammany Parish Library, the St. Tammany Parish Library Board of Control, and our entire St. Tammany community on this significant project. They will gather data through community research to identify several key metrics including: aspirations of the community; strategic areas of focus, obstacles and opportunities; and potential library service strategies.

Ways to Get Involved

Look for opportunities to be a part of this planning process including: public meetings, focus groups, surveys, and interviews. Follow us on social media, and be sure to check our website, www.sttammanylibrary.org, for announcements regarding future community events and additional ways to provide your insight. The process culminates with the creation of the Strategic Plan containing actionable and attainable library service goals, activities and objectives for the short, medium and long-term future, which we expect to be complete in early 2022.

This is our first Strategic Plan for Services for the St. Tammany Parish Library. We value your input and participation in helping us create the road map for the future of our library, which will give us additional foundational tools to move forward for many years to come.
