NHS Gives Buddha a Second Chance

Written by:

After several months of treatment, Buddha is still fighting for his life! When Buddha was found homeless, he had a severe, open laceration spanning his entire neck. The rescue team at Northshore Humane Society immediately moved into action to give him the medical care he desperately deserved.

Over the last several months, Buddha has received around-the-clock care by our surgery department. He has also gone through multiple surgeries to close his wounds, all without any luck. Our medical team had tried everything possible but nothing was working.

It was at this time that we had to make a decision about Buddha’s future. Do we take a leap of faith and send him for advanced medical treatment or would euthanasia be his best option? As a no-kill rescue, we believe in trying everything we can for an animal in need and so his second chance journey continued.

Buddha is now seeing a specialist where he receives hyperbaric oxygen and laser treatments. He now has a fighting chance at a future that many may never get the opportunity to have.

There are still so many homeless animals just like Buddha who need your help. They will require months of treatment to not only heal their bodies, but also their broken hearts. Please consider making a donation so that Buddha and animals just like Buddha are given a second chance and an opportunity at a life worth living.

Donations can be made by visiting our website at northshorehumane.org or mailing a check to Northshore Humane Society, 20384 Harrison Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
