Lorie’s Tasty Barbecue Beans
1 pound lean ground meat
1 medium onion, diced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
2 cans pork and beans
½ cup of barbecue sauce- regular, smoke flavor or spicy
1.Heat oil on medium heat in skillet. Sautée onions, minced garlic and parsley. Season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
2. Add ground meat to the skillet with the seasonings and cook on medium heat until brown.
3. Add beans and barbecue sauce. Cook on low heat uncovered for about 40 minutes. Stir often to prevent sticking.
4. Serve as a hearty side dish for all of your outdoor (and indoor) summer celebrations.
