Creepy Concoctions to Spike Your Spirits

Sparkle and Smoke and other twists and turns will quench your Halloween desires. Enjoy the season’s spookiest and most decadent cocktails as you get ready for some tricked-out treats!

Immortal Beloved -2½ ounces black vodka, ¾ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, ½ ounce simple syrup, Edible white pearl dust (craft store baking aisle) | Directions: Add simple syrup, lime juice and black vodka to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add a dash of pearl dust to the bottom of a martini or coupe glass. Pour cocktail into the glass and serve. Add more pearl dust for extra shimmer and stir with a bar spoon. Ice

Interlude With The Vampire – ¼ cup blackberries, ¼ cup mint leaves, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 ounces bourbon, Splash of cranberry, juice | Directions: Muddle blackberries, mint leaves and sugar in a small pitcher. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a bowl, pressing against the solids with a rubber spatula; discard the seeds. Fill glass with ice and pour mixture into glass. Top with bourbon and a splash of cranberry juice. Garnish with mint and serve.

Zombie Apocalypse – 2 ounces hard cider, 1 ounce whiskey, Ginger ale, Crushed ice, Dry ice for smoke effect | Directions: In a 16-ounce tumbler or high ball glass, combine the hard cider and whiskey. Fill glass with crushed ice, then add ginger ale. Drop in a small amount of dry ice for smoke effect.

The Smashing Pumpkin – 2 ounces pumpkin spice vodka, ½ ounce half and half cream, 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 ounce maple syrup, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract | Directions: In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients over ice. Shake vigorously until chilled. Strain and pour cocktail into an ice cold martini glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick and nutmeg.
