This Northshore shelter isn’t letting COVID-19 stop them from caring for the community’s pets. When Woofstock, the shelter’s biggest event of the year, could no longer take place in March as scheduled, Northshore Humane Society found a way to make it work. Now, their summer beer festival, Larry Hartzog’s Twisted Brew Fest, has officially been cancelled. “We just don’t feel right asking our supporters and donors for sponsorships at this time,” says CEO Scott Bernier. “The event is in memory of a wonderful friend of the shelter, Larry Hartzog, and we will still honor him in lieu of the event in any way we can.” With both events bringing in over $150,000 in necessary funds annually, the staff is having to work harder than ever to make up the difference. The shelter is planning a Facebook campaign to raise what they can, and asking the community to donate there or through their website at www.northshorehumane.org.
Northshore Humane Society’s Community Clinic is open and offering safe and efficient curbside service. Woofstock appointments are available and offering $75 annual vaccines and discounted prevention. Mention “Woofstock” when you call 985-892-7387 Ext. 3, email: clinic@nshumane.org or use our mobile App, PetDesk, to make an appointment. Although NHS encourages clients to wait in the comfort and safety of their vehicle while the staff cares for their pets, you can still expect the same, exceptional customer service you have come to know and love!
Adoption, foster and intake appointments also available from the safety of your car. Email adopt@nshumane.org today!
