Real Weddings: Younger-Skluzacek

Jade Ann Younger, daughter of Crystal and Philip Younger, married Trent Alan Skluzacek, son of Pam and Alan Skluzacek, on a crisp autumn day on October 23, 2015. Jade is the owner of Stella Dallas Boutique and grew up in Mandeville while Trent, who is originally from Alexandria, works as an account executive for PPG Industries.

HOW DID TRENT PROPOSE?
He proposed in New York City at a beautiful restaurant called One If By Land, Two If By Sea on the day we moved into our first apartment in New York City. We were unpacking boxes and he insisted we go out to celebrate. On the way out he asked if I wanted a nightcap because one of my favorite songs was playing live on the piano. The waiter came out and handed my husband a beautiful Victorian tray with rose petals and the most gorgeous engagement ring I had ever seen. He dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of everyone and I started crying because it was the sweetest surprise ever.

My dress made my heart skip a beat the first time I tried it on! I had a very specific vision and I had gotten to a point where I knew I wasn’t going to find exactly what I wanted. The moment I started to accept that, I found it! The dress was so perfect for me: a little vintage, a little Victorian, a little Bohemian!
