Real Weddings: Bruff-Lambuth

Written by:

Rachel Bruff, daughter of Donelle and Randy Bruff, met Will Lambuth, son of Connie and Mitch Lambuth, during college at the University of Southern Mississippi and married on May 7, 2016 in a simple, sophisticated ceremony at Juliana’s Wedding and Event Center in Ponchatoula.

DID YOU HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER?
No. I did most of the planning myself and knew the vision I was trying to create. However, our families were extremely helpful in pulling it all together, especially since most of the planning was done long distance from San Diego, where Will is stationed as a Captain in the Marine Corps.

WHAT MADE YOUR WEDDING SO SPECIAL?
Being able to spend time with our family and friends of whom we do not get to see very often. We had people drive and fly in from all over. It was very heartwarming to see that everyone had a great time and that they were truly happy for Will and me.

HOW MANY DRESSES DID YOU TRY ON?
I tried on a total of 15 to 18 dresses at four different stores. The entire selection process had to be done in just one day, and the dress I chose was one of the very last dresses I tried on.

WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE RECEPTION?
Since Will wore his Marine Corps dress blues, we decided to do a military sword arch for our introduction into the reception. The venue had a beautiful staircase that made the perfect location for the arch. Will had six of his friends create the sword arch and we walked through it to the reception area. It was such a unique element that we wanted to add to the reception.
