Summer is officially here and so begins another hurricane season. I encourage everyone to start making preparations now. One of the most important things you can do is stay informed. As in years past, we will post all emergency information to our city website, Facebook and Twitter SOS accounts.
One of the easiest ways to stay updated is by signing up for email notifications on our website, MySlidell.com. It’s as easy as clicking on the “Stay in the know…Join our email list!” at the top of the page and entering your name and email address.
All of these services can be accessed from virtually anywhere–whether it’s a cell phone, desktop, laptop or tablet. Even if you must evacuate, you can get continuous updates about Slidell. I encourage you to take advantage of these useful resources.
And now to the fun stuff! The city’s summer movie series, Slidell Movie Nights, continues on Saturday, July 13 and July 27 in Heritage Park. These movies are a great opportunity for families and friends to come together as a community and enjoy free family films in the park. Pack your picnic blankets and chairs and bring your appetites and enjoy. Visit our website or the “Slidell Movie Nights” Facebook page to see the movies.
And be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, August 10th for White Linen and Lagniappe in Olde Towne Slidell.
