½ teaspoon of Cocktail and Sons “Spiced Demerara” syrup or 1 demerara sugar cube
3–4 dashes of Angostura bitters
3–4 dashes of orange bitters
2 ounces Rye whiskey
Splash of soda or sparking water
You will need an old fashioned glass or rocks glass as some call it. Use a muddler to crush sugar cube and combine with bitters or a spoon to stir syrup with bitters. Add Rye Whiskey. Then add one over sized perfectly formed ice cube and a splash of soda. (I make mine in the oversized square or sphere silicone ice cube trays.) Garnish with orange zest and sip slowly. Mmmmmm!
