At Northshore Humane Society, we understand the importance of vaccinating your pets. Vaccines not only prevent infectious disease or lessen the effects of a future disease, but they can even protect you, the owner. Unvaccinated pets can pass diseases to their owners which begs the question, why wouldn’t you vaccinate? NHS Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Mikala Myers says, “the benefits of vaccinating are HUGE! Not only that, but it is so much easier to prevent these diseases and infections than it is to treat the issues after they are contracted.”
At our shelter, we do all we can to offer these crucial injections at the lowest cost possible. Vaccine packages are offered on multiple days throughout the year, but the biggest event offering this service is Woofstock. The community veterinary clinic is the main attraction at this fun festival. Each year, over 600 dog owners take advantage of discounted veterinary services. Annual vaccinations are offered to the public at only $75. Other vaccinations and shots will be available a la carte and microchipping is only $15 per pup! Discounted heartworm and flea prevention will also be available for purchase, while supplies last. The festival portion of Woofstock entertains the entire family. Attendees will enjoy delicious food, beer and beverages, a children’s area, raffles and a vendor marketplace designed for your furry companions. Come enjoy all Woofstock has to offer at the Castine Center on March 29th, 8:30 am, all while protecting your furry friend.
