Mandeville Mayor Clay Madden

Mayor Clay Madden Speaks

Mayor’s Note: Clay Madden, Mandeville

Business is Booming for Mandeville

Happy Birthday America! Not only will we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th, we will also celebrate our ability to be together and have fun in Mandeville. On Sunday, July 4th, we will host our “Light Up the Lake” celebration. Picnics on the lakefront will begin at 10am with live music from The Boogie Men beginning at 6pm. Food trucks and a “Keep Mandeville Beautiful” kid’s tent will be available. Fireworks will begin at dark. We hope to see you there!

Mandeville continues to be a great place to do business and sells itself. Though some openings were held up by weather during late spring, we are looking forward to the grand opening of Chick-fil-A, Albasha Greek and Lebanese Restaurant, and Jersey Mike’s Subs within the month. We will also welcome a Fat Boys Pizza in the coming months. Sales tax revenues continue to outpace the same months’ collections in the previous year. Please continue to shop local!

As we move into July, my office will be presenting the 2021-2022 Budget to the City Council. One noticeable addition will be funds allocated to land acquisition as we continue to focus on purchasing green space. Your input in the budget process is welcomed and encouraged.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not recognize Police Chief Gerald Sticker and his upcoming retirement. Chief Sticker has had an amazing law enforcement career, and we will miss him greatly.

Thank you for allowing me, Clay Madden, to serve as your Mayor. I continue to meet with constituents on a daily basis and want everyone to feel free to contact me any time by cell at 985-630-8578 or email cmadden@cityofmandeville.com. Have a great summer!
