Flowers and Chocolates…Romantic Cocktails

Valentine’s day is all about romance! Flowers and chocolates are traditions when it comes to Valentine’s Day and our cocktail recipes showcase these lovely ingredients. They are sure to make your heart flutter on one of the sweetest days ever!

The Sweetest Thing | Baker’s dipping chocolate, 1 ounce strawberry infused vodka, 1 ounce white creme de cacao, ½ cup strawberries-fresh or frozen, 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries for garnish. Dip the rim of a martini glass into the melted chocolate and allow it to drip down the sides of the glass. Combine vodka, creme de cacao, strawberries and vanilla ice cream in a blender with 1/2 cup ice and mix until smooth. Pour the cocktail in the prepared glass and garnish with a fresh strawberry.

Love Actually | 1½ ounces vodka, 1 ounce white crème de cacao, ¼ ounce rose water, 1 drop purple food coloring, edible rose petals. Combine vodka, crème de cacao, rose water and food coloring in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 15 seconds until chilled. Pour into a martini glass and garnish with one or more edible rose petal.

Like Water for Chocolate | 1 sugar cube, 3 dashes chocolate bitters, 1 orange twist, 2 ounces bourbon, splash of water, 1 maraschino cherry. Add the sugar cube, three to four dashes of chocolate bitters and the orange twist to an old-fashioned glass. Muddle the ingredients well. Add the bourbon and a splash of water and stir. Add ice cubes and garnish with the cherry.

Punch Drunk Love | 2 ounces gin, ½ ounce maraschino liqueur, 1 ounce lemon juice, ¼ ounce crème de violette, edible violet for garnish. Mix all the ingredients together into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for a full 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an edible violet and enjoy.
