Let Them Eat Cake

YOUR WEDDING CAKE should be two things: beautiful and delicious. Some brides choose ornate confections while others opt for a much simpler “less is more” approach for their wedding day desserts. Either way, we are loving these wedding cake trends for 2017.

Naked Cakes
Naked Cakes with their exposed layers are the perfect examples of how brides are saying less is more.

Flower Power
For a while, intricate designs and edible/sugar flowers dominated the wedding scene, topping cakes covered in smooth, flawless fondant. Now, real flowers, leaves and vines atop rustic, imperfect butter cream frosting are having their time in the light.

Metallic Cakes
We’re seeing metallic everywhere, from sparkling bridesmaid dresses to wedding stationery. Why shouldn’t your cake have a little fun? Whether they are lightly dusted with gold flakes or spar- kling with edible glitter, we’re seriously loving this opulent cake trend.

White-on-White
Classic white always says bridal. If you’re interested in intricate designs without going over the top, these colorless cakes are the way to go.

Groom’s Cakes
A groom’s cake is a great way to insert some of the groom’s personality into the wedding day. You can showcase his favorite sports team, love of hunting or something more traditional.
