April Cocktails: Fresh, Fruity & A Little Flirty
THE VIBRANT FLAVORS of spring make these fresh and fruity April cocktails easy to enjoy! Crisp and cool, these refreshing sensations will brighten up your afternoons and weekends, whether you’re relaxing on the patio or at the pool!
Great Fruit Grapefruit
1-1/2 ounces tequila
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce fresh pink grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce agave nectar
1/4 ounce Maraschino liqueur
Rosemary sprig for garnish
Combine tequila, lemon juice, pink grapefruit juice, agave nectar and Maraschino liqueur in shaker. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
I Gotcha’ Limatcha
1 tablespoon sugar
8 fresh mint leaves
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
3 lime wedges
1-1/2 ounces white rum
8 ounces seltzer water
In a tumbler glass, add sugar, mint leaves, matcha green tea powder and juice from limes. Muddle ingredients. Add rum and stir until matcha powder is dissolved. Fill glass with ice and top with seltzer water. Garnish with mint sprig.
When Life Gives You Lemons
1 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1 ounce limoncello
1 ounce white rum
4 ounces soda water
Mint leaves and lemon slices for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add lemon juice, limoncello, simple syrup and rum and shake until cold. Fill a highball glass with ice, then strain in the liquid. Top off with soda water. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slice.
What The Kumquat
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce orange liqueur
1/2 ounce simple syrup
4 Kumquats
Sugar for rim of glass
Cut the kumquats in half. Add kumquats, vodka and simple syrup to a shaker and muddle. Add crushed ice and shake. Pour into a sugar-rimmed martini glass. Float orange liqueur on top and garnish with kumquat slices.
